Utila Coral Restoration
In May 2018, Kanahau partnered alongside the GoECO Program at Utila Dive Centre and now proudly presents the Utila Coral Restoration Project! (Read more/follow us here)! Thanks to the authorization and participation of the Honduran Marina Mercante and ICF, the project aims to install and maintain several coral trees (an effective methodology that serves to as a nursery for threatened species of coral); as well as a source for education and training opportunities for marine biologists and researchers at the Kanahau Facility! Utila Coral Training Programme dates for 2019: 28th June - 12th July 15th July - 28th July 2nd - 16th August 2 - 14th / 16-28th September 14-26 / 28-9th October 11-23rd / 25-7th November 9-21st December During this two week training course you will develop skills in coral nursery maintenance and out-planting, as well as gain PADI certified speciality courses.
